The Kontula Rescue Station serves East Helsinki.

Helsinki rescue and emergency medical service units are now able to deliver help faster thanks to the operation of the new Kontula Rescue Station.

The Kontula Rescue Station serves East Helsinki.
The preparedness of emergency medical service in particular will improve in the area. The improvement of the service level of rescue operations has been prioritised in the area. The station is located in the immediate vicinity of Lahdenväylä and Ring I, and most of the assignments passed on to the station will most likely involve road traffic accidents.

What makes the Kontula Rescue Station special is its gym, which is available for use by all residents of Helsinki. We will provide further information on the booking policy later on. A similar gym is also in use at the Haaga Rescue Station.

The Kontula station will implement the Clean Cab concept where dirty supplies and equipment can be washed and serviced in separate areas.

The Kontula Rescue Station was completed within budget and on schedule. The station started its operation in January 2025, and an open day was held there on 11 February.

Other new rescue stations are planned for Tapanila and Vuosaari. Next autumn, a key unit station will be opened in Vuosaari followed by a rescue station later on.
