Accident reports -- What to do after an accident?

  • If you are insured, we recommend that you contact your insurance company as soon as possible to take your claim forward.
  • If the insurance company requests a report from the rescue services (accident report), we will provide you with it on request.
    • To request it, please send an e-mail to pelastuslaitos.selosteet@varha.fi. Please include a free-form explanation of the date, address and the incident so that we can correctly identify the request for information.
    • It takes approximately two weeks from the date of the accident to complete the accident report. There will be no automatic notification from the emergency services when the report is ready.
    • The Rescue Department does not automatically send information to insurance companies, as we cannot know which insurance company someone has. It is up to the party concerned to provide the insurance company with the accident report, if necessary or if the insurance company so requests. In some cases, the insurance company will also ask the rescue service directly for a report. It is worth checking with the insurance company.
  • If you later find that your residents need crisis assistance, you can direct them to contact the Social and Crisis Helpline of Southwest Finland.

Accident reports can be requested by e-mail from pelastuslaitos.selosteet@varha.fi

Road accidents

Accident reports relating to traffic accidents can be requested by e-mail from pelastuslaitos.selosteet@varha.fi.
