Rescue operations

The purpose of rescue operations is to save and protect people, property, and the environment in the event of an accident or impending danger, as well as to limit the damage caused by accidents and mitigate their consequences.

Emergency medical services

The Rescue Department provides emergency medical services as part of the wellbeing services county’s own service production throughout the entire region.

Construction and land use guidance

We guide and advise urban planners, environmental authorities, building inspectors, and those undertaking construction projects to consider fire safety in the built environment and the conditions necessary for rescue and firefighting operations.

Supervision and fire inspections

By preventing accidents, we aim to reduce the likelihood of accidents and, through proactive measures, minimize the damage caused by accidents.

Safety communication

The Rescue Department manages guidance, advice, and safety communication related to rescue operations in the region. The goal is to prevent fires and other accidents, ensure proper actions in emergency and dangerous situations, and limit the consequences.

Preparedness

Preparedness ensures the functioning of society in all situations. The Rescue Department protects the population in normal accidents, emergency situations, and disturbances, as well as in exceptional circumstances.
