There are five collaborative areas

Collaborative areas for rescue operations came into effect at the beginning of 2024. Their most important task is to prepare for rescue operations in the event of large-scale and long-term incidents and accidents. The collaborative areas compile data on regional situational awareness. They plan the management of rescue operations and the provision of assistance in long-term or large-scale incidents and accidents. The plans are drawn up jointly by the area’s rescue departments under the leadership of the rescue department responsible for the collaboration.

There are altogether five collaborative areas, and collaboration in rescue operations in each collaborative area is organised by the rescue department of the wellbeing services county in which each university hospital is located.
