The third sector, various foundations and organisations, are the Rescue Department’s important partners in organising civil defence. We have been cooperating for decades, and several hundred trained volunteers participate in the city’s civil defence work.
Participate in civil defence work
Training related to civil defence shelters is organised by the Southern Finland National Defence District of the National Defence Training Association of Finland (MPK) and Helsingin Pelastusliitto in cooperation with the Civil Defence Association of Helsinki.
The training is divided into basic, further and special courses. Training is organised for various task groups, including technology, maintenance, public order, first aid, mental support and child-friendly space groups.
