Länsi-Uusimaa Rescue Department as a research subject

Are you working on a thesis project? Or would you like to collect research material from the Rescue Department?

You need a research permit to be able to conduct research related to the operations, premises, training ground or staff of the Länsi-Uusimaa Rescue Department.

A research permit is required when the research or investigation is conducted based on the interests of a researcher / research institute external to the Länsi-Uusimaa Rescue Department. This also applies to theses written for universities.

When is a research permit required?

You will need a research permit if you mention the institution of the Länsi-Uusimaa Rescue Department as a source in your research material.

You do not need a permit for conducting individual interviews (the person appears in the results under their own name), but you will need one for an interview study.

How and where to apply for a research permit

Use this form to apply for a research permit: Form to apply a research permit, in Finnish

You can send your signed application and any attachments by email to the personnel team of the Rescue Department at henkilostotiimi.lu@pelastustoimi.fi or by post to: Länsi-Uusimaa Rescue Department, Research permits, Palomiehentie 1, 02750 ESPOO.

We may ask you to provide further information. The person processing your application is also entitled to request a more extensive research permit if the material or legislation so requires.
Research permits are granted by a member of the executive group of the Rescue Department upon written application.

The Rescue Department publishes approved research permit applications internally, and they will be available to the personnel until the study is completed.
